Matthew 4:18-22 is the story of the call of the first Disciples. Today, the Lord is still calling forth men who are willing to drop everything to answer this call.
“Duc in Altum” means to “Put out into the deep” (Luke 5:4)! Here Jesus instructed Simon (Peter) to “Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” Jesus is calling all of us to be fishers of men.
Here at Deepertruth, we set out to go forth into the deep water where we can delve into the mystery of our Holy Catholic Faith (Ephesians 3:1-3).
I am honored to have served with Father Hopper in Korea and played a small part of his coming home to the Catholic Faith.
The Virgin Mary was instrumental in calling Father Hopper to be one of her sons making him a prince of the Church (Psalms 45:17).
In answering her call, Father Hopper has chosen the higher portion of serving Christ becoming a priest in His Kingdom (Revelation 5:10).
1 Peter 2:9-10 states, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were ‘no people’ but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy but now you have received mercy.”
