Lucy Thornton Berry is a retired librarian and educator, who now spends her time in pursuit of her two passions, writing poetry and researching African American history. Author of the book FROM SURVIVIN' TO THRIVIN' and several broadsides, she has been published in a number of anthologies and magazines, among which are: BLACK GOLD; ADAM OF IFE: BLACK WOMEN IN PRAISE OF BLACK MEN; JUBILEE MAGAZINE; URBAN PROFILE MAGAZINE; THE ZORA NEALE HURSTON FORUM.
