We begin a several week study of Paper 119—The Bestowals of Christ Michael. The Urantia Book reveals, for the first time, that Jesus of Nazareth is Michael of Nebadon—a Creator Son of God whose divine parents are the Universal Father and the Eternal Mother-Son. The local universe of his and the Creative Mother Spirit's creation could only be ruled with unqualified sovereignty after Michael completed seven bestowals in the form and nature of various creatures of origin in his local universe. His last seventh bestowal, of which we are familiar as his life as Joshua ben Joseph (Jesus of Nazareth), was preceded by six others. This last paper of Part III reveals that background history and puts his life here on Urantia in its true broad context—giving us knowledge of its full experiential significance for the first time in human history.
(1308.2) 119:0.2 The attribute of bestowal is inherent in the Paradise Sons of the Universal Father. In their desire to come close to the life experiences of their subordinate living creatures, the various orders of the Paradise Sons are reflecting the divine nature of their Paradise parents.
(1308.4) 119:0.4 The purpose of these creature incarnations is to enable such Creators to become wise, sympathetic, just, and understanding sovereigns. These divine Sons are innately just, but they become understandingly merciful as a result of these successive bestowal experiences; they are naturally merciful, but these experiences make them merciful in new and additional ways. These bestowals are the last steps in their education and training for the sublime tasks of ruling the local universes in divine righteousness and by just judgment.
(1308.6) 119:0.6 ...such Sons...come to know the various groups over which they rule and exercise universe authority.
