This week, we'll be discussing the timeless human longing to know what happens to us after we die and that there is in fact life after death. This is an open phone segment, so please feel free to call.

Everyone dies. There is nobody on earth that doesn't die, sooner or later. This is a fact of our existence and to some degree the only variable is how we will die.

Some people know they are dying of an illness and are blessed because knowing allows everyone involved time to assimilate the reality and inevitability of it. It gives them a chance to take care of business and say their goodbyes. It's much harder when someone dies suddenly or accidentally and leaves many loose ends and many things undone. Even so, death certainly comes to everyone.

From God's point of view, death is not an end but a beginning and it can help to keep that perspective. Death is really just another birth in an endless cycle of life. Think of the loving hands and warm smiling faces that greet new babies. Emergence into the next world is no different.

Imagine the joy on the other side when a newly born soul arrives. Imagine the joy of reunion for those loved ones who have already passed over and the joy of the angels to welcome this beloved child to their new life and their ongoing existence. There must also be an indescribable personal joy of the one who dies but then makes the sublime discovery that there really is no death.

There is comfort in the simple reality that God understands why we humans are fearful of the mysteries of life and death. Compared to eternal viewpoints, human viewpoints are as limited as the vision of a new born baby.

Perhaps you are grieving a loss. Please call in and share with us your thoughts on life after death.
