As of 2013, 2.5 million post-9/11 service members have separated from the armed forces, and these numbers will surely increase as many more return from the current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. It has been estimated that over 30,000 veterans will be separated from the military here in San Diego. So, where are they? What are they doing; What local programs are available to assist them in gaining employment?
Serving Up Diversity’s guest is Sandra Fichter, who served in the US Army in both the Enlisted and Officer Ranks. She is working with veterans matriculating out of the military and seeking employment in the private sector.
