On the 400th episode of The Robinson Show, Ashleigh Curry. Ashleigh is an actress, filmmaker, director & producer from Gastonia, North Carolina. She is the director & producer of the short film "Toni, Mamie & Connie." The film tells the story of Toni Stone, Mamie Johnson & Connie Morgan who were three black women who played in the Negro Leagues during the early to mid 1950's. In the film, Curry portrays Mamie Johnson. In the early to mid 1950's, Johnson was a pitcher in the Negro Leagues for the Indianapolis Clowns. On the program, we discuss Curry's upbringing in North Carolina, favorite Major League Baseball teams, familiarity with the Negro Leagues, the short film Toni, Mamie, Connie & more. Enjoy the show!!!
