After a 40-year career in college athletics, Alfreeda Goff served the Horizon League as its director of championships, senior woman administrator and league governance liaison. Her career included time at University of Pittsburgh (Pitt), Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), and Virginia State University (VSU).
As the first female AD at VSU, she led the program to historic growth and success and was awarded NACWAA’s Administrator of the Year Award in 1999. She sat on numerous NCAA committees and was NACWAA’s president from 2004-2005. She was also a founding member of the Minority Opportunities Athletics Association (MOAA). A highly respected trailblazer in the industry, she has been instrumental in building and growing Women Leaders in College Sports. She founded the Women's Leadership Symposium in 2001, and it's still going strong today (Women Leaders Podcast)! Some of her top accomplishments include helping develop the Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Program at Pitt and serving as the first administrator at VCU to oversee men's and women's sports.
