When Sammie Vance first heard about buddy benches, she was eight-years old. She told her parents she wanted to have one made for her elementary school because she thought it would help other children overcome shyness. Since she started Sammie's Buddy Bench Project on Facebook, she has not only overcome her own shyness but she has helped thousands of other children all over the world. Sammie has appeared on "Today Show" and has received awards and many accolades for her selfless work to eliminate lonliness.
Because of her, more students are recycling plastic drink bottle caps and they now have their own buddy benches on school campuses. Listen to learn how this little girl from Fort Wayne Indiana continues to inspire people of all ages with her kindness promotions.
