Psalm 73
I love this psalm, it’s an incredible Psalm written by Asaph who wondered why the wicked prosper.
But DO they REALLY prosper?
Now Asaph begins with a conclusion and that is: "God is good", and amen to that!
And if you look into this psalm you’ll see that first off Asaph got into trouble by looking upon the wicked.
He wrongly thought he saw prosperity, peace, pride, pleasure, and even profanity towards Almighty God, yet no judgment!
So he wondered “What’s up?”
And then he got even more confused as he looked inward into his own heart; the heart of a true believer who was cleansed and even chastened by God.
Then he even admits this in verse 16 where he said: “When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me”
But praise the LORD because Asaph FINALLY looks to God and finds understanding (verse 18) which leads him to look onward where he sees the personal presence, the sustaining power, the guiding purpose and even the glorious promise of our Almighty God!
So be sure to tune in to learn how all of this applies to us as true believers!
