SDG 153 The One True Gospel

1 Corinthians 15:1–4

If you were to asked to define The One True Gospel, could you do it?

Now the reason I ask this is because the word gospel is a word that is carelessly used by many believers. Sometimes we talk about gospel music.

And when someone's telling the truth, he says it's the gospel-truth; and that may be true, but it’s not the gospel's truth.

Then a preacher may even preach a series of the awesome and wonderful teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, but that’s still not the gospel.

Or another preacher may put on a pair spiked shoes , walk up and down his congregation's back, and then after they are bloody and raw pour salt in the wounds.

In other words... he’ll preach a message on hell fire and damnation.

And, by the way, that needs to be preached.

So I’m not opposed to that, in fact if we had more hell in the pulpit, we’d have less hell in the community, but that’s still NOT the gospel.

So what is The One True Gospel?

Plain and simple the One True Gospel is contained in our focus scripture!

So stay tuned to hear about the scriptural content of the one true gospel along with sin's debt, defilement and dominion.  The saving intent of the one true gospel with it's call for all to be saved, strengthened and secured.  And then we'll conclude with the saving extent of the one true gospel intended for every person, in every place and for each and every problem!
