Fatima Munroe is...
Refreshing. Something different. Not your average. These phrases have been used to describe Fatima Munroe’s writing style. In her early years, Fatima was the kid that was always in the house with her nose stuck in a book, a self-proclaimed ‘nerd’ and proud of it. Growing up on Chicago’s west side, she often heard the sounds of the streets and saw even more as a kid. She was determined not to be another statistic of the ‘hood’.
?
Applying herself in high school, she worked part time while maintaining a high GPA all four years. Attending college while working, she quickly moved through the ranks and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management as she settled into a demanding career in retail.
After the untimely passing of a parent, Fatima used writing as an outlet to express her pain and sorrow. From that pain, she made the decision to step out on faith and pen her first novel, Chi Town’s Queen. After sending her manuscript to a few publishing houses, Fatima was ultimately led to Urban Chapters Publications.
As an urban fiction author, Fatima’s stories tell the tale of love and loss on the streets. Often categorized as a mix between urban crime drama and ‘hood love’, her stories leave readers shocked, stunned and ready for more!
