Critical Discourse: Omawale El-Hajj Malik Shabazz (Malcolm X)

As Saturday, February 21st. will mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Brother/Minister/Revolutionary Malcolm X.

Yet given his magnanamous impact, it was as if this was only yesterday.

A rough and horror-filled childhood and aimless, early adulthood, set into motion his pathway to becoming a most excellent helper of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad and the NOI.

But, it was the challenges that came with such a responsibilty and in many ways, a manifestation of what we as black people in America have become after slavery, that caused the bitter and unfortunate separation from the NOI.

But being the man he was, molded in the finest steel and timbre, Malcolm remained committed to the struggle for Freedom, Justice and Equality, here in the DIaspora and abroad, in his desire to unify the Inigenous African with the African-American.

On Critical Discourse, we will examine his life and legacy, never overlooking his devotion to Al-Islam añd his global, de-colonized mind, which even today, far outshadows the host of present-day charlatans, passing as leaders, commissioned to lead our people into the  morass of spiritual, moral and intellectual bondage.

For what we learn about the life and death of Omawale Malik Shabazz, helps us to appreciate our own past, present and future.
