This Saturday on Critical Discourse, we are pleased to bring back, sister Onlilove, who will continue to picque' and expand our consciousness, regarding the sickness of Colorism.

In particular, we want to discuss the Bill Duke documentary, Black Girls (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9f08-OYGTA).

As was covered during the first Colorism show, I maintain with all vigor, that for Sam L. Jackson, who in his portrayal of the Uncle Tom, in the movie Django Unchained, to insist that he be made to look darker, demonstrated with clarity, the disease of Colorism. Furthermore, knowing the mindset of many black people, were he to portray his character as being ligher-skinned, would have cause a major upheaval amongst us.

Understand, that this show is in now way an attempt to perpetuate Colorism, by fostering rancour and diviseness amongst peoples of African decent, by virtue of differences in skin-tone.

But, we must understand the history that has led to this, and how ultimately, we must heal from and overcome its debilitating effects.
