One Year Bible Study Part 30

Welcome to another show here at, "Your Place"! One thing for sure we seem to enjoy the study into the life of David more at the beginning then we do later in his life. But if we are honest.  David being a man after God's own heart is shown more in his mistakes and how he responds to keep his relationship with GOD.  He made no excuses and owned up to his mistakes as he saw them for what they were through the eyes of GOD! For sure the times they lived in are so much different then the life we live today.  It makes some of the things we read in the bible so foreign to our way of thinking.  We live in a time where words like GOD and christian is said but what we see is so far removed from really obeying GOD!  Wild Bill feels that in many church bible studies that we try to highlight the good and leave out the bad of people in the bible.  To bad we don't do that with people in our church.  Maybe that is why people today are so quick to try to justify their actions or quit church.  If we try to put a fictional picture to the negitive aspects of people in the bible.  Are we forgetting that all scripture is given by inspiration of GOD for our good! We have to admit, this is not your childrens bible story study of David.  This teacher is bringing this to us in a school format and pushes bounderies of our sensibilities with the pictures he paints in your mind. Just because it makes us uncomfortable does not mean that he is wrong!  Maybe we were never meant to be comfortable in our mental picture we get of things like the end of David's life.  Teaching should equip people on what to do if they fall.  Can you say you don't see the fingerprints of GOD on David's life when he fell?  Instead of trying to make a fairy tale story of the bible we need to be real on how we teach and apply scripture to our life! Not saying this teacher is always right,but it expands your mind!
