"We are in the hands of God"  Jeremaiah 18:1-6

THE PARABLE THE POTTER AND THE CLAY

One of the most powerful analogies in the Bible regarding our transformation and sanctification in the Lord has to be the analogy of the potter and the clay.  God is illustrating His sovereignty over and in the lives of His people. The Bible says that God is the potter and we are the clay. It is God who mold, transform, and sanctify us as we journey through this earthly life, but we must allow Him. In this analogy God wants us to know that the clay is totally submissive to the potter.  Submissiveness is defined as: ready to conform to the authority or will of others; meekly obedient or passive: Whenever God gives us a specific analogy in the Bible, this means that we must seek into the revelation of that analogy in order to pick up what He is trying to tell us. In other words, we have to find exactly how pottery is made and how the clay response to the potter. God is the potter and we are the Clay.  We are all in the hands of God.

God wanted Jeremiah to understand the lesson He was about to teach Him, so He sent Him to the potter’s house to see what a potter do with clay.
