God is the Essence of Love    1 John 4:17-21

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in  love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us.20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

When we go to church, hear the message, then go to bible study and study the word if love is not the foundation and the driving force,  we all will continue to fall short.  Tthroughout  the bible God demonstrate His love toward us over and over again and only ask that we loved in in return.  In Matthew 22:36-40 Jesus was asked:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?  37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38 This is the first and great commandment.39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

It's all about Love!  God first then others.
