The14th chapter of Luke opens with Jesus on the Sabbath Day at the house of a prominent Pharisee.  The Pharisees didn’t want to just fellowship with Jesus, but to use this opportunity to trap Jesus into saying or doing something for which he could be arrested, remember at this time they were trying to find anytime they could use to take Jesus down, they wanted to get rid of Him at any cost necessary.  Jesus was on their turf but He was not afraid to face them, and He knew that their purpose was to trick Him into breaking the law.
