"Learn to rest in what God has done, is doing and has promised to do"   Psalm 23

Jesus is our Shepherd and we are His Sheep

Many times in the bible Jesus is known as our Shepherd and we are His Sheep.  The 23rd Psalm is not a parable, but David is using his time as a Shepherd to describe the relationship of a Shepherd and his Sheep.

. As our Great Shepherd we can rest in what He has done: (Heb. 13:20) now the God of peace that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant.  As our Good Shepherd we can rest in what is doing now: (John. 10) I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As our Chief Shepherd we can rest in what He has promised to do. (1 Peter 5:4) And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
