Haggai 1st Chapter

In the Old Testament of the bible God spoke to His people through the prophets.  God sent warning, encouragement, promises, and reproach to the people about what He had done for them, what He was going to do to them, and His promises toward them. Whenever you want to hear God speaking, you must visit the books of the Old Testament.  Haggai was one of God’s prophets, he is one of the twelve Minor Prophets, and there are five majors prophet which gives us a total of seventeen. The name ‘Haggai’ is Hebrew and he is a Jew. In 586 B.C., Jerusalem was conquered by the Babylonians under the King Nebuchadnezzar; God orchestrated and allowed it because of their disobedient. Jerusalem was destroyed and the temple that Solomon built and everything in it was carried away. The source of Jewish pride was destroyed. The temple was known for its beauty, splendor, and magnificence. Many were killed and those who were not killed were taken into captivity and exiled to Babylon.
