Join Anna K. as she interviews guests weekly about what makes them GLOW...inside and out!  Every Friday, 10am EST.  This week she interviews Cari Luetge...

Cari is 33 years old and grew up in Temple, TX; a medium-sized town with a small-town feel. While attending high school she constantly juggled trying to fit in and keep up with the “popular” crowd, kept busy with cheerleading, softball, tennis, Young Life, FCA, and worked at the local grocery store. After graduating high school she chose to stay in Temple, where she was awarded a softball scholarship to Temple College. Staying home that first semester of college is where her story begins and her life was forever changed.

Cari got pregnant at the age of 18 and like many teen girls faced with this same situation thought she only had one choice; abortion. She was the child of a single mom, a child herself and on a full ride scholarship...but worst of all, didn’t know who she was pregnant by. Luckily, her mom found out and after a doctor’s visit, a meeting with her Pastor, and a visit to The Gladney Center for Adoption, her baby’s life was saved. Fast forward to present day, her 14 year old daughter knows Cari as her “birth mom”, she visits with her daughter at least 3 times per year, and she is still very active with The Gladney Center for Adoption.

Because of her choice in adoption, her daughter has an amazing life and family. Cari was able to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University and has a long standing career in Student Housing. Cari's daughter has a life that one would envy and Cari has been able to rebuild her life to prepare for her own future family. She is open to all about “her story” and has high hopes of educating the world on what adoption truly is. It’s not what you think.
