Good Morning and welcome to the Seriouside of the jril show.  This morning we will discussing the following topics:

SEGMENT 1:  Voter Suppression-Georgia Rep. John Lewis, one of the civil rights movement’s few remaining living legends, successfully prevented an effort by a House colleague and fellow Georgia lawmaker Paul Broun to defund the Justice Department’s ability to enforce Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

SEGMENT 2: Gay Marriage Support-The president of the United States came out this week in support of gay marriage.  How will this play in November?

SEGMENT 3:  Florida Justice-Marissa Alexander of Jacksonville, Fla., received a 20-years prison sentence for firing warning shots against her allegedly abusive husband. She told police it was to escape a brutal beating by her husband, against whom she had already taken out a protective order. After the Trayvon Martin case, what is really going on in Florida?
