The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Dr. Michelle Oakley, star of Nat Geo WILD’s Yukon Vet.

No two days are ever the same for Dr. Michelle Oakley, the only all-species vet for hundreds of miles in the Yukon. She could be chasing boars by helicopter, stalking wolverines in the wilderness, performing surgery on a jaguar, or facing any number of new challenges with the amazing animals of the north. Animals are incredibly important to the people of the Yukon, and Dr. Oakley will do anything to keep them safe and healthy.

Michelle welcomes viewers into her world on Nat Geo WILD’s series, Dr. Oakley, Yukon Vet. In one day, she can go from hopping into a helicopter to dart wild horses, to expelling dogs’ anal glands, to getting chased down by the very large Artic muskox — and that’s before lunch! Committed to her clients and helping local animals, she could drive hundreds of miles through snowy passages for a patient and often with the help of her three daughters. Most of her clients live off the grid, sometimes without power, or regular water.
