Juan Antonio joined season 3 of the FOX hit series Empire as Philip, the new love interest to Jussie Smollet’s character Jamal. Juan quickly steps into the role of a military vet leading a PTSD support group. This is the first honest partner Jamal has found during the series, Phillip is able to look past all the fame, fortune and success in Jamal’s life and accept him for his true self. Season 4 of Empire premiered on March 21 and airs on Wednesdays at 9/8c on FOX.

Juan’s breakout role came when he starred opposite music superstar Beyoncé in her Best Thing I Never Had music video, which has racked up over 266 million views! Prior to joining Empire, Juan was no stranger to the small screen – he completed a recurring role in TNT’s Murder in the First starring opposite Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson. He has also been seen in smaller roles on hit series such as CBS’s Scorpion, FOX’s Modern Family, ABC’sHow to Get Away With Murder and Grey’s Anatomy, among other roles and in independent films including Gemini starring Zoe Kravitz.
