The Total Tutor Neil Haley and Coach Karen Hall will interview Atlantic 10 Associate Commissioner Jay DeFruscio.

Jay DeFruscio is the conference’s associate commissioner. He has held that post since August of 2011.

DeFruscio is a highly regarded in Ohio Valley basketball circles. He served as head men’s basketball coach at Wheeling Jesuit University for 18 seasons while also serving as the Cardinals’ athletics director.

He left WJU for an opportunity to coach in the NBA. He was an Indiana Pacers’ assistant for four seasons before accepting his position with the Atlantic 10, which is based in Newport News, Va.

Among his many duties as associate czar, DeFruscio oversees the A-10 men’s basketball championships. Last season, the tourney was held in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. In 2018 it is slated for the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

The Drexel Hill, Pa., native also handles regular-season scheduling, television selections, the Atlantic 10 men’s basketball officiating program, marketing, licensing and branding efforts.
