Jason Matthew Smith, star of this summer’s most anticipated release Star Trek Beyond (Paramount Pictures) starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Idris Alba, Zoe Saldana and the late Anton Yelchin which will be world premiering at San Diego Comic Con on July 20th and in theaters across North America on July 22.
 
Smith has been an integral part of this spectacular franchise as he was also in the two most successful  movies: Star Trek and Star Trek into Darkness both directed by the revolutionary JJ Abrams.  Jason's riveting character of “Cupcake” is the true representation of everything Star trek as his fans have grown to love and admire his alter ego throughout the years..
 
Biography

     Jason Matthew Smith stars in the latest installation of the Star Trek extravaganza: Star Trek Beyond as the character of Hendroff “Cupcake,” directed by revolutionary director JJ Abrams. Smith also starred in the first two movies of franchise, Star Trek and Star Trek into Darkness. With an amazing fan base, this summer blockbuster is guaranteed to be a hit.

Jason Matthew Smith was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He grew up all over the mid-west including brief, but formative years spent in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. His family finally settled in Cincinnati where he attended both high school and college. He earned a B.F.A. in Acting from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. Upon graduation from college, he opted to further his studies at Northern Illinois University, where he earned his M.F.A. in Acting. While attending NIU, he studied with master Miesner instructors Katheryn Gately and Gene Terrusso.
