Writing is a foundational aspect of a literate and civilized society....or so they say.
Nonetheless, writing a book requires intentionality, focus, commitment, and a certain kind of stamina. Publishing a book is a whole other monster. I have done both.
The goal to tell my story in a collection of personal essays has been reached. The secondary goal of publishing has happened because I made it happen. I literally did it. I learned how to publish my story without the voices of publishing institutions. Without the approval of an agent. Without the green light from an industry that rejects 90% of the writers who submit their work. We can produce what we want to produce without the permission of others. That was my goal.

And I did that!
