Colonel Anita M. Kimbrough received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. She attended the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School culminating in a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Upon graduation from dental school, COL Kimbrough completed the post-graduate dental residency at Wyckoff Heights Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and the second-year, the hospital-based residency program at Bronx-Lebanon-Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, New York. COL Kimbrough has also earned a teaching certification from Texas A&M University School of Medicine and a master’s degree in Oral Biology from the Uniformed Services University. She is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
Colonel Kimbrough is a graduate of the Army Medical Department Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combat Casualty Care Course, Dental Management Development Course, Captain Career Course, Command and General Staff College, and the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Two-Year Program at Fort Hood. Her military awards and achievements include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Service Medal (ISAF), and the 63A9F designator upon completion of the US Army Dental Corps Advanced Clinical Practice Program.
