The A.A.Q.L.A. began in 1986, with only a handful of ladies, and has since grown to over 130 multi-ethnic members. The A.A.Q.L.A. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose purpose is to celebrate and continue the tradition of quilting while bringing awareness of the historical value of African American quilts to the entire society.
Bi-annually, the Guild presents a Quilt Show featuring almost 300 quilts made by our members. Our 2019 Quilt Show takes place on Saturday, November 2 at the Carson Community Center 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This year, the public will be given an opportunity to win, “We’ve Come This Far by Faith,” a quilt designed, sewn and quilted by our members.
Charity Projects: Each year we create and donate hundreds of quilts for those in need: infants, children, teens, and seniors.

Meeting: Join us for speakers, lessons, show & tell, and inspirational camaraderie
