Claudette Rogers Robinson is an original member of The Miracles and former wife of lead singer Smokey Robinson.  The first successful group act for Berry Gordy's MOTOWN with "Shop Around"was Motown’s first million-selling hit record, and the group went on to become one of the label’s signature acts. “My Girl” was written and produced by The Miracles members Smokey Robinson and Ronald White (most notably performed by The Temptations) in dedication to Claudette.

Los Angeles City Council will honor The First Lady of Motown _ Ms Claudette Robinson on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10am in the City Council Chambers; Los Angeles City Hall; 200 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012 at 10am. She received the name First Lady of Motown from the founder himself, Mr. Berry Gordy. For her long time commitment and contribution to the music and songs that universally helped bring people together worldwide
