Good afternoon, today on The Meter we will cover the President pulling the new healthcare bill from the House floor when it became apparent that the necessary votes were not there. Democrats hailed the Republican failure as a victory for Americans, while President Trump blamed Democrats for their lack of support. The Republican Freedom Caucus refused to support the bill citing that premiums would not be lowered enough. President Trump has indicated a pivot toward tax reform. Illegal aliens once again are in the news as a 14 year old American girl was raped in a Rockville, MD high school by two illegal aliens aged 18 and 17. Both enrolled by Montogomery County, MD as Freshman. All this while the State of Maryland moves ahead with a vote to make the enitre state a sancuary for illegals. Governor Larry Hogan, a Republican vows to veto the bill. In other news Rep. Devin Nunes (R) CA has uncovered information that former President Barack Obama indeed conducted surveillance on then President-elect Donald Trump's transition team. Not confirming Trump's claim that Trump Tower was wiretapped, but said that Obama was spying on foreign leaders to eavesdrop on Trump. Nunes serves as Chairman of the House's Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. President Trump told the press he felt "vindicated" by the findings. Hearings are planned. In London, another truck attack by an Islamic extremist once again places the world on high alert. Please join the discussion at 2:00 P.M. The call-in number is 347-308-8933.
