Good News Segment: Medicare open enrollment ends December 7, 2018 with Seema Verma and Ray Hurd. If you have a Medicare health or prescription drug plan, you only have until the end of Open Enrollment, December 7, to make changes to your 2019 plan. Even if you are happy with your current Medicare coverage, you might find something better. Every year Medicare health plans change in cost, coverage, and participating providers. In fact, the projected 2019 average basic monthly premium for a Part D prescription drug plan is at the lowest rate since 2012! If you miss the Open Enrollment deadline, most people will have to wait a full year before they can make changes to their plans. Medicare Open Enrollment began on Monday, October 15 and ends at midnight on Saturday, December 7.
