The CHAUNCEY Show-Meet Cheryl Erickson for Governor of Illinois. In 1981, Cheryl joined the US. Army, where she received training as a Combat Photographer and Video TV Production Coordinator. Her commendations include the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. In January of 1983, she married the love of her life, Scott Erickson, at Ft. Lewis, WA, and gave birth to her son Scott Jr. in 1986. After her military service, Cheryl attended College for Fire Science/Paramedic and has a distinguished career as a Firefighter Intermediate Paramedic. She obtained an Associates Degree in Fire Science Paramedic and achieved 6 clinical saves. Cheryl was awarded Firefighter of the Year in 1997. She played an instrumental role in her son's time in the Boy Scouts as she was an Asst. Scoutmaster and merit badge Counselor for First Aid, Firemanship and CPR. During her time as an Assistant Scoutmaster she obtained the distinguished Order of the Arrow. In 2009 she became an advocate for Pitbulls and Animal Rescue. Cheryl Erickson has spent her career serving her country with the US. Army and her community as a veteran Firefighter Intermediate Paramedic, and now she’s running to be your voice as your Governor.
