About Ron

Ron Artest Sr. is father of NBA champion Ron Artest Jr.  He was born in Brooklyn NY. He moved to Philly at 8 years old, and lived there for about 10 years. He returned to NY in 1978 got married the following year and had a son, Ronald Artest Jr. He's better known as Ron Artest aka Metta World Peace. After marrying into a ready made family with 3 girlsRon Sr. went on to father 2 more boys and then fathered a daughter by himself, now significant other. She's my youngest at 32 years old. She's an up and coming artist and goes by the name Mel Rosa. She went to school to become a mental health peer advocate. His son, Daniel, played basketball in junior college and spent some time playing overseas. He is a personal trainer now. Last but not least, his youngest son, Isaiah, is an attorney. He went to school abroad, and finally received his law degree and aced the Bar exam on his 2nd try. The Lord has blessed him with 4 children, but he raised 9 children who gave a total of 27 grandchildren and over 20 great grandchildren whom he has yet to meet most of them. His grandchildren are either working, in the music industry, or playing basketball. One of his grandsons went to UC Irvine and then to USC but eventually started a tech company in which he builds video games. His grandson, Ron Artest III, has followed in his father's footsteps and he played college basketball at Cal State University Northridge. He completed 3 years at CSUN and played professionally in Canada and also had stints in the NBA G- League. He now has a nonprofit organization named The Artest Foundation: a youth foundation that has held tournaments, camps, clinics and even mental health forums.  Tune in for more.  POW!
