COLONEL Phil Torres Col Phil Torres served on active duty in the Marines for over 34 years. He rose from Private to Colonel. From enlisted through the Warrant Officer ranks, and into the regular Commissioned ranks. He was based at Khe Sanh in Vietnam during the 1968 Tet Offensive and was later awarded a Silver Star Medal (third highest combat decoration) for actions as a 19-year old Infantry Platoon Sergeant during Operation Meade River in late 1968.
He retired in 2000 from Okinawa where he returned one last time to study his beloved karate. Phil has been involved in the martial arts since 1961. He is also featured in the book Kason,,,Tet Offensive ,,Siege in the clouds ,By Eric Hammel www.martialartsmastersradio.com
