Paris Hilton may be considered an influencer, but her lifestyle is millions of miles away from most of our lives.

But recently, from what I understand, she is talking about what she went through during her adolescence. She was kidnapped in the middle of the night, which had been arranged by her parents, and taken to a facility for troubled teens.

And from what others are saying, this is very common in the United States, particularly among wealthy people. Parents who cannot communicate with their teens, and are not happy with their behaviour, are sending them off to these facilities which provide what is sometimes called “tough love”. Some of these teens end up dying, taking their own lives or, in at least one case, dying of heat stroke.

So what do you think about this? Is this the way to deal with troubled teens? Some of these young people are saying they are traumatised and are still living with the long-term effects of trauma. Some of them are saying they have been physically abused and even sexually abused. So what do you think? I want to know, what do you think? Do you think this is an effective way to deal with troubled teens? And If so why? And if not, why not? Please phone in on (515) 605-9325. We really want to hear from you.
