In recent years, statistics showed that in America more than 60 percent of marriages were ending in divorce. People still desire intimate relationships and still want to be part of a family, but the old structure just isn't working in the new society. The world has changed, the economy has changed, people have changed, and as the Biblical scriptures say, you can't pour old wine into new wineskins. In the past, marriage was for the purpose of a man owning the rights to a woman's body in order for her to bear his children and serve him in the maintenance of his home.  Religious and legal structures upheld this concept. But as our world evolves out of old structures created by an often abusive patriarchal system and evolves into new concepts of equality of the sexes, the reasons for marriage and the roles within marriage must change. If we want strong family foundations that last, we must rebuild the institution of marriage according to a higher evolved understanding of personal relationships as a partnership not an ownership.  We propose a Life Partnership Relationship contract that serves as an agreement between parties that may provide guidelines for a lasting elationship based on personal emotional maturity, building trust, developing a friendship, and agreeing to shared responsibilities.  Take a look at the Life Partnership Relationship. Should it replace the old marriage concept?
