Across the country in America, women are winning elections to office and holding powerful positions of authority. In Illinois and Cook County women have been elected  Mayor, Lieutenant Governor, States Attorney, City Treasurer, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Cook County Board President. Across the nation there are women in the U.S. Senate, and in the U.S. Congress, and there are many women Circuit Court and Appellate Court judges. Will so many women in power change the social dynamics of the nation? African culture has historically had its share of memorable queens and princesses, women who held positions in society that commanded respect. Today Princess Adenike Akorede, publisher of Shekinah Glory Magazine International,joins us to discuss the social impact of women in authority.
