Many families are torn apart by the Criminal Justice system when a loved one serves time in jail. Whether an arrest was made due to domestic violence or as a result of a bad decision to commit a robbery, eventually the person returns home, often in worse emotional and physical condition than when they left. How should family members provide an emotionally healing environment to one who has endured public shame as a result of being incarcerated? How do you know whether or not a person is truly ready to come home? Today's guest George Salter, Assisant Director of the Westside Health Authority, discusses the experience jail detainees haveof returning home after what proved to be a traumatic experience of loss of freedom, loss of  trust, and loss of income as a result of decisions they made.
