“Books Over Balls” Builds Boys Into Men Through Mentoring

The game of basketball is the bait to draw boys aged 11-21 to weekly mentoring sessions with strong men who share their knowledge and help build skills in every thing from conflict resolution to goal setting. This is the solution to the crisis of urban violence, drug related gang warfare and widespread bullying at school that makes childhood a traumatic experience instead of a time of joy and innocence. We need men in the lives of boys, shaping, molding and guiding them to a healthy adulthood.
