People are outraged that the U.S. Government has enacted a policy against immigrants that allowed children to be separated from parents when parents were deported as illegal immigrants. The public outcry led to President Trump stating an end to this policy, but there are still countless children detained in cages awaiting the reunification with their parents. The trauma of this experience will no doubt leave deep emotional scars. Who is responsible for protecting these children from verbal, sexual and physical abuse while in detention? Today we'll take a look at how children separated from their parent are being affected emotionally, psychologically and physically, and what are the signs of abuse parents should look for once they have reunited with their children.
