The Department of Homeland Security is seeking to make every State in the U.S. comply with the "Real I.D. Act" by 2018 in order to allow individuals to fly on Federal commercial airlines, even on domestic flights. This means, in order to board the plane, all individuals will be required to have a passport. How will this affect travel for the average person? Will it create problems for those who are ex-felons and not allowed to get a passport? Will it hamper those who need to make emergency flight plans to deal with deaths and funerals of relatives in other States?
