Join us for an invigorating discussion about who is prepared to take care of minor children in case of an unexpected death. According to ChildrensRights.org, on any given day there are nearly 428,000 children in foster care in the United States. In 2015, over 670,000 children spent time in U.S. foster care. On average, children remain in State care for nearly two years and six percent of children in foster care have languished there for five or more years. If you’re an aunt, uncle or grandparent, are you prepared to raise orphaned nieces, nephews or grandchildren? If you are a parent of minor children, who have you named as legal guardian in case you pass away? In absence of a family’s preparation for such unexpected occurrences, too many children end up in foster care. Has your family had this important family discusssion? Are there children in your family in foster care? Call in, 515-605-9325. Press 1 to speak to the host.
