The holiday season is upon us - Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years - the times when families gather together to eat...and eat...and eat! Diabetes is widespread in our society, often traced to the high sugar, salt, and fat in our diets. Look at all the holiday favorites - salty ham, sweet potato pie, sugary beverages - and no matter how many trips to the doctor, no matter how many diagnosis of high blood pressure, no matter how many relatives we see getting limbs amputated from diabetes, some of us just insist on being hard headed and feeding ourselves on a diet that is killing us! You can enjoy your family and food without choosing meals that leave your body out of balance with to much salt, sugar and fat. Good health is not a matter of heredity, it's a matter of choice.
