In Africa, before the Transatlantic Slave Trade and Colonialism, the indiginous people enjoyed their own various cultural lifestyles, which included food, styles of dress, language, and ways of feeding their families through farming, fishing and hunting. After the European invasion, black people found themselves adjusting to a culture that took away their independent, self sufficient lifestyle and enslaved them to a system requiring them to work for European currency. America became the powerful extention of Europe, and the black people in America were conditioned since the period of their enslavement to adjust to and imitate the philosophy, lifestyle, and behavior of white people. Segregation brought some level of autonomy to black people in America for a time, allowing blacks to create and enjoy a separate cultural existence in their own communities, but integration dismantled successful economies created by black businesses and thrust blacks into a world that required imitation of white values and behavior. Are blacks living in a white world? Let's talk about it.
