Have black men becoming the prey for whites to stalk and kill? Treyvon Martin was a teenager walking home minding his own business when a white man stalked him and shot him dead and was acquitted of wrongdoing. So many murders have taken place, some recorded live on video and put on the Internet for the world to see, and yet, despite widespread outrage, the killings continue. The public murders of Alton Sterling in Louisiana and Philando Castile in Minnesota have caused outrage. This week, we'll hear the voices of our writers who have captured these moments in American history and will be presenting their works at the upcoming Soulful Chicago Bookfair, Saturday July 16, 10am to 8pm on 61st street in Chicago. Today author Darryl Harvey discusses the inspiration behind his poetry book, "Open Season: Growing up Black in America." In our second hour, author Navi Robins discusses his novel "Tragedy, Power and Temptation."
