Healing The Hate: How Should We Respond When Police Kill Unarmed Citizens?

Cameras on police vehicles. Body cameras on police officers. Cell phone videos from witnesses. We see the action, it's posted on the Internet, yet nothing seems to stop the killing of unarmed citizens by police. Fighting crime is one thing, but how do we rid ourselves of criminal police? No one is safe until everyone is safe. Who should be held accountable for these killings? Should police chiefs be fired for failing to purge the ranks of emotionally unstable officers? Should the family of victims file a class action Civil Rights lawsuit against local police departments? Should lawsuits be filed against the insurance companies that bond the officers? "Administrative Leave" is just a paid vacation. How do we remove frightened, reactionary, dangerous officers from the police force?
