Two busloads of high school students returned to Chicago after a national tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, inspired to use their college education to transform their lives and the lives of their peers in the communities from whence they came. They see life differently, after an experience that enabled them to connect the past liberation struggle to the present fight for justice, and to know that they are the link in the chain that leads to what will ultimately be a transformed human race and an Earth where people live in peace. A few of the students are joining us this morning to discuss their experience and the goals they have been inspired to reach for as a result of taking this trip. Our first guest, Jay Celeste, at age 17, is already an author and will share her motivation for the book she has written, The Rebirth, which addresses such a serious topic for youth today. Next, No'Lynn Nix, youth reporter and columnist for The Windy City Word Newspaper, gives her insight on how this historic tour gives students greater motivation to srive for higher education.
