Absent Fathers: Is That The Real Cause of Youth Violence?

Single Parent. A contradiction in terms, because it took two to make a baby, why is there only one person raising the child?  Many successful people say they were raised by a "single parent" and praise their mothers for taking on the task of feeding, housing, clothing and educating them by herself.  Where are the men? Why are they absent? How do we recreate a culture of family?
