Female Mayor of Taft Oklahoma Runs Independent Black Town

You don't like the city where you live? Move somewhere and create another one! That's really what the citizens of Taft Oklahoma have done, and in ther independently run municipality, they are content. The Mayor of Taft joins us today to explain how it was done, and how others can do the same. What does it take to organize a city and keep it self sustaining and self sufficient? How do you insure clean water, air, and fresh food coming into the city? What about educaton? Taft is one of the independent black run townships in the U.S. that demonstrates the power of collective work and responsibility. Its former Mayor Lelia Foley Davis, The first Aftrican American female Mayor in the U.S., talks to us about removing the fear that keeps us from making independent decisions to be self sufficient.
