Many of us know that we have that great novel or autobiography or collection of short stories or book of poetry inside of us. Often because we are busy earning a living, we never get around to writing it down. Leah Carlos discovered that her father, Wilburn W. Carlos, a successful entrepreneur with a shoe shine business on Chicago's West Side, had a literary gift. He wrote a children's story, "The Gorilla Who Loved Biscuits." After he passed away a few years ago at age 90, she found collections of his poetry wriitings. She has published his creative works and is sharing his books for children, encouraging families to spend quality time by enjoying his stories and poetry together. Through his daughter Leah, the works of Wilburn Carlos live on.
